Dead to Rights: Reckoning is a third-person shooter video game, developed by and published by Namco on June 28, 2005. It serves as a prequel to the Dead to Rights II. The daughter of a high ranking Grant City official Senator is kidnapped and Jack Slate must rescue her. The game is very similar to Dead to Rights IIand retains the series' signature usage of bullet time, disarming moves and the ability to use an attack dog. Similar to the prequel, this game no longer retains the original's minigames and heavily favours action instead. Dead to Rights: Reckoning has been criticized for its overly repetitive gameplay, which involved running around clearing rooms punctuated with an occasional boss fight; poor camera and controls; recycling levels from Dead to Rights II and a poorly conceived multiplayer function built around auto-aim. The game received a 5.7/10 from Gamespot and a similar score of 54% from GameRankings.

Gameplay:

Chaos unlocks new agency missions and stronghold takeovers. Chaos and stronghold takeovers expand the factions' area of influence, which unlocks faction missions and race challenges. Agency missions progress the story, while faction missions are completely optional. Helping one faction does not prevent the player from helping the others. The artificial intelligence uses a planning system which enables enemies to perform various actions. Enemies can use the environment to their advantage, taking cover behind objects and adapting to the objects around them. Additional elements include vertical gameplay using a grappling hook and parachuting maneuvers and also manual aiming system. There is also a real-time deformation system and individual components can come loose from vehicles.

Gameplay:

The gameplay of Deathly Hallows - Part 2 will differ from Part 1, in order to address complaints made with the previous game. The game will progress linearly, through cutscenes but will not include side missions like the previous game. Combat in Deathly Hallows - Part 2 involves button presses which initiates spell-casting as an attack. Three face buttons, usually with a symbol or a letter, on the controller will have two spells each, and by pressing a button twice the player can access the buttons second spell. A new feature is the ability to "Apparate", which allows the player to teleport in and out of battles, as a form of defence.The player will be able to control several characters from a third person over-the-shoulder camera including Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom, Minerva McGonagall, Seamus Finnigan, Ginny Weasley and Molly Weasley.
